Advice For Patients Attending The Community Continence & Urology Service
What you should you do before you attend your appointment?
Please check that the date, time and clinic location on your appointment letter is suitable (we offer morning and afternoon clinics in various locations which may be more convenient to you)
- If you would prefer to change your appointment please phone our administration team on 0151 347 4207 to discuss and re arrange as soon as possible.
- You may wish to ask a carer or family member to attend clinic with you
- If English is not your preferred language and you need and you need an interpreter please phone our administration team on 0151 347 4207.
What should I do on the day of the appointment?
- Please bring the following if requested on your appointment letter:
- Completed bladder and bowel chart (If enclosed)
- Sample of urine
List of your medicines What will happen at my clinic appointment?
- Your will be seen by a specialist nurse of specialist physiotherapist who will ask you questions about your bladder or bowel problems
- You may be asked to have some simple bladder test in clinic we will discuss the tests with you and ask for your permission to proceed
- A chaperone can be arranged with prior notice should you request one
- You will be offered advice, treatments and an agreed plan of care to help improve your bladder or bowel problems
- In some clinics a Student Nurse may be in attendance for training purposes.
