The wait is almost over, with the £5.3 refurbishment of Upton Lea Integrated Hub, on the Countess of Chester Health Park nearly complete.
In line with the 10 Year Health Plan, the works have enabled the Trust to bring services together to support more joined-up working and improved care for patients, across both adult physical and mental health pathways and children, young people, and families.
From the end of May 2026, Upton Lea Integrated Hub will become the new home for the following services:
- All-age 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Line
- Adult and Children and Young People Mental Health Crisis teams
- West Cheshire Community Mental Health and Home Treatment teams
- Out-of-hours GP and Community Nursing services
- Cardiac Rehabilitation service
The extension of Upton Lea also includes a new Place of Safety for people detained by Police under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act, which is due to open later this year.
Information for patients
During this time, all planned care appointments are going ahead as normal. Your care team will be in touch with you directly, should your appointment move to Upton Lea Integrated Hub.
For Out of Hours GP support, patients should continue to seek urgent support from NHS 111. Calls to 111 are free, as long as the mobile phone is in credit. NHS 111 can also be accessed online. The service may be able to resolve the problem, or they may pass a call to the GP Out of Hours Service.
If your mental or emotional state quickly gets worse or deteriorates, this can be called a ‘mental health crisis’. In this situation, it is important to get help quickly. Please call NHS 111 and select the mental health option to talk to a mental health professional.
