Join our virtual recruitment event on Monday 18 May at 12.30pm to find out more about upcoming trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) opportunities within our schools-based Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in Cheshire.

The MHST is part of Cheshire’s Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) – formerly known as CAMHS – and supports the mental health needs of children and young people in education settings.

Within MHSTs, Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CYWPs) and Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) provide support for mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing difficulties. They also work with education settings to develop a whole-school approach to mental health.

Our Cheshire MHSTs work in partnership with primary and secondary schools across the area, and the number of schools we support continues to grow.

We have opportunities for 8 Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) to join our teams, starting in September 2026.

During the full-time, 12-month trainee post, you will study at Greater Manchester Mental Health's Psychological Therapies Training Centre in Prestwich, with two days per week of study and 3 days per week of practical experience within Cheshire's Mental Health Support Team.

The webinar on 18 May is a chance to find out more about the role, the course, our Mental Health Support Teams are how they work, plus practical information around how to apply.

Please note: the vacancy is not yet live. Applications will open online from Monday 18 May.
