2026 Lunchtime Learning Sesssions

Starting this year, the Research and Development Team along with colleagues, will deliver a range of Lunchtime Learning sessions (a series of short, focused sessions designed to share practical research skills and insights).

Each session will run for 45 minutes (12:00–12:45) on the 3rd/4th Tuesday of the month via Microsoft Teams.

These sessions are open to CWP staff only.

Keep a look out for our lunchtime learning sessions on our Research Intranet Page (SharePoint) and in the CWPeople bulletin.

12th June 2026 An Introduction to Research

This research workshop is aimed to be relevant for all Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation staff - no previous experience or expertise is needed. We will be very pleased to hear from you, and you are also welcome to invite your CWP colleagues.

The training consists of two complementary sessions, and we ask delegates to please attend both:

  • Introduction to Research
  • Critical appraisal of qualitative and quantitative research

This workshop aims to provide an understanding of the basic principles of research, and to equip people with some practical skills related to the planning and carrying out of research. These skills aim to also introduce concepts about various aspects of research, to increase knowledge and understanding.

If anyone is planning to carry out research, these courses will assist with the development of a research question and project. The skills attained may also be transferable to other related activities such as project work and evaluations.
